We currently seek a Junior Technical Support Specialist for our Office in Bucharest. The Technical Support Specialist will provide telephone and e-mail technical support to customers and billable consultants with regard to SPSS products and customer applications.
 

Requirements
• Bachelor or master degree in computer science with no more than 24 months prior to hiring (January 1st 2015) or related experience
• English: Fluent
• German or French or Spanish: intermediate or fluent
• Knowledge of relational database concepts and SQL

  • Knowledge and experience with MS Office
    • Knowledge of multidimensional database, data warehousing and data mining concepts is a plus
    • Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL Server is a plus
    • Knowledge and experience with HTTP and/or FTP servers is a plus
    • Understanding of statistics and preferably experience with statistical applications is a plus
    • Understanding of Market research business and survey tools is a plus.
    • Previous technical support experience is a plus
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to learn quickly
    • Team player with ability to learn complex technical material.
    • High level of self-motivation with a strong desire to solve problems.
    • Demonstrated outstanding verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to maintain self control while defusing stressful customer situations
    • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Windows desktop and server environments
    • Knowledge of other OS systems like Unix, Linux is a plus
 Responsibilities / Accomplishments
 • Facilitate resolution of complex technical problems in all areas of assigned products by collecting the necessary documentation or recreating in house, keeping the customer updated on the status of reported problems and ensuring CRM system is updated with current information on cases and with information regarding problem resolutions.
• Insure the customer’s satisfaction with their SPSS purchase by representing SPSS to the customer.
• Provide customers with suggestions and methods of utilizing their SPSS products to provide the business value they require.
• Provide assistance to SPSS and business partner consultants in resolving customer problems and implementing solutions utilizing SPSS products.
• Insure bug fixes resolve the customer’s problem to their satisfaction. Work with development/support to insure their understanding of the customer’s problem.
• Support beta accounts as assigned

  • Knowledge of Java/J2EE, Object Oriented (OO) design, JavaScript frameworks(such as Dojo, jQuery, Node.js), HTML5, Eclipse, Tomcat/WebSphere, XML/schema, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) frameworks, Web Services (REST, JSON, SOAP), Cloud, Mobile Web, OLAP, RTC/ClearQuest.
  • Previous experience in automation, build and test frameworks, such as Jenkins, JUnit, Selenium is a plus.
  • Preferred skills include previous work/internship experience in scalable enterprise software development
  • Preferred candidates will have a background in a technical discipline, a demonstrated foundation in software engineering, ability to work with a group of peers, leadership, problem solving, analytical thinking, multi-tasking, written & verbal communication skills as well as a focus on customer success.
  • Previous work experience on software project(s) is a plus.

• Design new test cases and verify new functionality in TM1 product releases

  • Develop automated tests as needed using Java, C , or RESTFul APIs
  • Work closely with development to resolve product issues on a daily basis
  • Execute regression tests as required for releases and log defects
  • Understand customer models to expand test scripts and coverage
  • Provide feedback on product usability, serviceability and documentation
  • Ability to work in a team
 Responsibilities / Accomplishments
 This role executes the tasks required to fully test an IBM product or system to ensure it functions according to specifications and client requirements and meets the business needs. Testing activities cover all aspects of the product/system including function/component, performance, system, regression, and service. Software Testers may set up test environments, design and plan testing activity, develop test cases/scenarios/use cases, and/or execute required testing. Testers also investigate problems uncovered during testing, recreating those problems as appropriate and executing fix validations. They provide feedback on usability, serviceability and documentation and report status to the appropriate audience.
This position is with the Cognos TM1 Quality Engineering team. TM1 is an in-memory OPLAP database, with which customers can rapidly analyze data, model business requirements and collaborate on plans, budgets and forecasts to uncover hidden business options and optimize performance. The TM1 product has built-in monitoring tools, which help with high server availability as well as real-time troubleshooting. Working as part of a team, this job role will ensure the monitoring tools perform per specification following Quality Assurance procedures.
